Losing someone you love is one of the worst things that can happen to you - and it’s something you’re almost certain to experience at some point in your life. When it happens, you’ll respond to your loss in your own way. There is no right or wrong way to grieve - but there are ways to make your recovery from grief more complete.

Everyone has a different way of handling the heartache of a break-up. Healing after the loss of love may happen - and usually does in time - but usually not by seeking it. A painful break-up offers an opportunity for you to heal this and other wounds, becoming stronger and healthier in the midst of your suffering. However, not everyone makes use of this opportunity for self-transformation, but instead may carry painful baggage into the next relationship, or simply retreat from relationships altogether. This article explores some of the ways you can help yourself to survive following a relationship break-up.
