Kirsty McManus, assistant director, CBI Northern Ireland spoke today at the launch of the Lesbian, Gay and Bisexual Equality in Employment Project, alongside Minister Farry.
She said: “CBI and its members believe that diverse workplaces are more effective workplaces. Our members know that they cannot afford to go without the innovation and creativity that comes with a workforce that reflects the community in which we operate.
“CBI advocates a voluntary, business led approach to promoting equal representation at all levels of business.
“I believe that the LGB Equality in Employment project satisfies a growing need from our businesses for advice and best practice on the development of equality and diversity policies and more importantly how business can engage LGB staff support networks.
“We are delighted that this advice is free to businesses, thanks to the kind support from Minister Farry at the Department for Employment & Learning. We look forward to working with the Rainbow project and will play our part in promoting this invaluable service to our members.”
