The Rainbow Project – Survey on Homelessness and related LGBT issues

The Rainbow Project, in partnership with the Council for the Homeless Northern Ireland and the Northern Ireland Housing Executive are carrying out a research project looking at homelessness and related issues for people who identify as lesbian, gay, bisexual and/or transgender (LGB/T).

The specific aims of the study are to explore:

  • The reasons for homelessness amongst LGB&T communities
  • To understand the relationship between sexual orientation and subsequent experiences of homelessness
  • To understand the relationship between gender identity and subsequent experiences of homelessness
  • To map LGB&T communities’ experiences of local housing and homelessness provision

We are currently seeking people who identify as LGB/T to complete a survey and/or take part in focus groups. All information collected will be treated in the strictest confidence and reported anonymously. No participants will be indentified in the final report.
