Volunteer Opportunity: Self Defense Organisation for Vulnerable Communities

The Rainbow Project is supporting the development of a Self Defense Social Enterprise in Lisburn. Can you get involved to help set it up?

Interested in getting involved in the setting up of a social enterprise? We have been contacted by a social enterprise currently being set up in Lisburn who would like to specifically work with communities more likely to experience harassment and/or hate crime. To this end they are looking for someone who identifies as LGB and/or T who would like to be involved in setting up, driving the development of and become a trustee on the board of directors.

This is a real opportunity for anyone who would like to be involved in a really promising community safety and development enterprise with an experienced, accredited self-defence practitioner. The lead coach for this project has spent many years working with blind and partially sighted people, people with disabilities and women who are all more likely to experience harassment on the street. For more information about how to get involved please contact The Rainbow Project on 028 90319030.
