Don’t Think Know

There are many misconceptions about HIV, AIDS and STIs. The Don’t Think Know Campaign aims to explore some of the commonly held myths around HIV & AIDS with the view to inform, educate and create awareness among men-who-have-sex-with-men (MSM).

“I thought it was ok not to use a condom if we both have HIV…”

People living with HIV are at risk from reinfection (or superinfection) if they have sex with someone else who has HIV.  It is important that you always use condoms regardless of your partner’s status.

“I thought circumcised tops couldn’t catch HIV…”

Although circumcision can reduce the risk of HIV if you are having unprotected sex, you are still at risk of catching the virus.  Don’t take any chances – always use a condom and lube.
