Identity is how you see yourself and how others see you. In Northern Ireland this is an ongoing source of conflict. As we struggle to move out of confluct into a shared pluralist future how do we:

- Encourage and sustain a pluralist society which is open and welcoming to all?

- Celebrate our diverse and multiple identities

- Build a shared sense of belonging

To mark Foyle Pride Week the workshop will be an opportunity for a diverse range of people, both within the LGBT community and allies to explore and share various views on their identity and that of others. An introductory contribution to the conversation will be made by Dean Lee, Counsellor at The Rainbow Project and Coordinator of the projects Gay Ethnic Group.

Community Dialogue is a charitable organisation that empowers people through dialogue and training to address issues of division and exclusion. Our overall goal is to use dialogue as a mechanism that allows victims and survivors of conflict to deal with and address their past and to begin to respect and understand the views and past of others. Through this appreciation for the past we hope to ensure people most affected by conflict can begin to move forward to a peaceful society together.

The Rainbow Project is a health organisation that works to improve the physical, mental and emotional health and wellbeing of lesbian, gay bisexual and/or transgender people in Northern Ireland.
