As we are unable to run our normal events that would support Rainbow due to COVID-19, we want to support the charity using online events
I will be abseiling down Belfast Castle in support of the rainbow project.
The Rainbow Project is integral to the mental and sexual well-being of the Northern Irish LGBT+ community. I will be fundraising for a monthly trans -friendly swimming session so myself and others can go to the swimmers without worry about our baps and bits.It costs £300 per session to rent out the pool and changing rooms.
The Rainbow Project works to improve the physical, mental & emotional health of gay, lesbian, bisexual and/or transgender people and their families in Northern Ireland. They do so much for our community. Our team here would like to support them as much as we can by donating as much as possible to go towards their organisation.
Our recently set up Belfast office at Fieldfisher (a large corporate law firm based in London with offices across Europe, US and China) is endeavouring to expand its social responsibility networks locally. I would be interested to set up a fundraiser in favour of the Rainbow Project to tie in with our Belfast Pride month (August) awareness campaign.
It is disgraceful that Northern Ireland lags so far behind all other parts of the UK and Ireland with regards to lgbtq+ rights. The resources allocated are a complete joke. The movement towards equality is gathering speed, we need to continue this momentum.
