Peace by Peace: where the march for true and lasting peace meets the march towards a truly equal, diverse and inclusive society.
The Peace by Peace initiative aims to;
Through Creating safe spaces for people
The idea for the Peace by Peace initiative evolved from a series of conversations, 'Pride in Our Identities' facilitated by Community Dialogue and the Rainbow Project in Belfast and Derry/Londonderry during the period 2017-2018.
To celebrate the Rainbow Project's 25th Anniversary in 2019 the partnership wanted to take these conversations on multiple identities and intersectionality to the next level and invited further collaboration with the wider LGBTQ+ sector and beyond. CarafriendNI, HereNI, Transgender NI, LGBT Humanists and UNISON joined the initiative to help organise the first Peace by Peace conference in September 2019
Our conference report will be available soon.
This was followed up by a residential in Corrymeela November 2019
Our residential report will be available soon.
The Covid 19 pandemic halted progress on the initiative until October 2020 when a series of conversations has helped to shape an action plan for 2021
There are now a number of ways you can get involved in the Peace by Peace Initiative in 2021, right now we are getting everything ready and we will be back with more information soon.
