Workshops Options:

• Workshop 1 – LGBTQIA+ Death Café with Patricia Lübeck

Take off your professional hats and participate in a demonstration of the Death Café model. In this workshop, there will be active discussion by all participants of death, grief, bereavement and dying, so please be mindful of your own personal wellbeing if you have been recently affected by loss. 

• Workshop 2 – Beyond Cancer: Adapting the model to other long-term conditions with CEO Scott Cuthbertson.

Taking the cancer champions model as a blueprint for effective health engagement and improvement, what lessons can be transferred to other health and long-term conditions? This workshop will be particularly applicable to charities, managers and those interested in strategic development and model-building. 

• Workshop 3 – From Awareness to Affirmation: Supporting LGBTQIA+ Mental Health with Krissy Smyth

Learn how to support LGBTQIA+ mental health and wellbeing, gain an understanding on some of the barriers and concerns clients face, and how to take a person-centered approach to  empower individuals towards meaningful strategies to cope with their experiences.

Professional Panel Options:

• Panel 1 – Palliative and End of Life Care: Improving death literacy for the LGBTQIA+ community.

• Panel 2 – Improving patient experiences: Covering sex and cancer care, and cancer screening for LGBTQIA+ people.

 

We will do our best to allocate options by preference however, we will be limited by room capacity and operate on a first-come, first-served basis. We recommend you return your workshop choices early to guarantee a place on your preferred morning and afternoon activities.
