Become an Ally
Building Practical Allyship
For those wishing to build practical allyship towards LGBTQIA+ people, this workshop aims at building your toolkit of being a positive and uplifting ally.
The first step in allyship is learning about the community you are acting as an ally to, if you wish to build understanding and awareness of LGBTQIA+ identities as part of your allyship journey, we recommend you review our other trainings available.
This course will focus on allyship actions & skills and therefore will not contain LGBTQIA+ awareness training.
This course will teach:
- Awareness of what an ally is and how to be an ally.
- Awareness of intersectionality and bias in relation to allyship.
- Awareness of what “safe” spaces and “LGBTQIA+ only” spaces are.
- Awareness of how and when allyship could be negative, harmful, or unhelpful.
- Resources to continue your positive allyship journey.
Our training can be delivered:
- Online via Microsoft Teams.
- In person at your venue.
- In person at our premises at our centres in Belfast or Derry/Londonderry. (Restrictions may apply)
- In person at a 3rd party venue you can access.
