Training session
LGBTQIA+ History
However, LGBTQIA+ History is often ignored, erased, or obscured, meaning as a community we need to record this ourselves.
This can sadly mean misinterpretation can occur so there can be common myths in the recording of our history, as well as the intersectional experiences of multiply marginalised members of our community being left out of recording.
Our workshop on LGBTQIA+ History provides a combination of both lecture-style teaching on history with interactive elements to keep you actively connected to the learning journey.
This course will focus on:
- Understanding of Queer global identities.
- LGBTQIA+ history on a global context as well as across UK, Ireland, & Northern Ireland.
- The history of Pride as a movement and the oppression LGBTQIA+ people face.
- The ways LGBTQIA+ people have been represented and how allies have been involved.
Our training can be delivered:
- Online via Microsoft Teams.
- In person at your venue.
- In person at our premises at our centres in Belfast or Derry/Londonderry. (Restrictions may apply)
- In person at a 3rd party venue you can access.
