Alannah O’Connor

As Policy and Legal Coordinator, my role is to develop and progress policy and legal interventions to improve the lives of LGBTQIA+ people in Northern Ireland, particularly around issues affecting trans and gender diverse communities.

Originally from Cork, I have lived in Belfast since 2024. Prior to joining The Rainbow Project in October 2026, I completed my LLM in Human Rights & Gender and spent a number of years working in both the European Parliament and as a students’ union Welfare Officer.
